The old saying that the kitchen is the heart of the home was surely coined in Jana’s house. Our Featured Customer built her home on a cattle ranch and hay farm in Eastern Oregon 22 years ago. At the time, she had three children and her kitchen seemed huge.
“Then our family grew to seven children, four of which are married now, and we will soon have eight grandchildren,” Jana says. “We outgrew the kitchen years ago, but it took us awhile to decide to remodel.” The family spends many hours every day in the kitchen. Winters are long in Oregon and there is a cozy fireplace at one end of the room. And summers are busy with haying seven days a week.Read More
2013 is all about dazzling color palettes. Color blocking highlights the vibrancy in individual colors, and in light of our recent LED launch, we’ve been thinking a lot about industrial pendants that will perfectly illuminate these vibrant, modern spaces.
Our newest collection gives an innovative twist to our porcelain favorites. Now you can hang your stem mount Benjamin™ Sky Chief and Benjamin™ Esso with the environmentally friendly power of LED lighting.Read More
Happy New Year’s Eve Eve! We hope you’re finding a special way to welcome 2013. This Style Me Sunday is all about celebrating the glitz and glam of New Year’s celebrations.
Here, retro glam meets industrial style. The Restoration Industrial Factory Side Table makes a statement as its masculine wooden surface juxtaposes with a finely crafted Modernist Champagne cooler. Sparkling light fixtures like Barn Light Electric’s Tubular Linear Iron Chandelier look elegant year round. If you lack the space for a large lighting fixture, try a petite pendant like the Indy Pendant. You can dress it up with a variety of bulb styles, or even use a porcelain socket!
While you pass around the bubbly, be sure not to spill on this Rivera Champagne rug! And nostalgia will be sure to abound to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne”— especially when you’re counting down the seconds with a vintage inspired clock like the Lille Tin Wall Clock. The conclusion of 2012 will be a night to remember!

If you’re like most people, your kitchen probably got a real workout in the last few weeks with holiday parties, family dinners, and enough baking to make Mrs. Claus proud. This kitchen looks like it would be the perfect place for whipping up some pre-New Year’s Eve goodies! Loads of vintage touches abound here with the classic subway tile, the retro containers behind the glass front cabinets, and the creamy green bowls that are just crying out for a matching jadite Ivanhoe™ Aero Shallow Bowl Pendant!
We also love the classic clock on the wall. Though we are immersed in the digital age, it’s refreshing to see an old-fashioned analog clock on the wall especially in the kitchen. Our line of Vintage Timekeeping has taken inspiration from a variety of antique clocks to offer you a choice of styles from vintage station clocks to retro school clocks. There are a range of colors to choose from including red, cream, black, and even some wooden time pieces.
The 1950s Electric Schoolhouse Clock, crafted by the Newgate Clocks company in Britain, boasts a clean modern dial and a fresh faced look that is reminiscent of the old schoolhouse design. Available in chrome, gloss black, or gloss brown, this clock will make a bold statement on any wall.
In our Vintage Clocks collection, a colorful array of timepieces is offered including the Ice Cream Factory Wood Wall Clock also manufactured by Newgate. A delight for any kitchen space, this clock draws its design from the metal original which is increasingly harder to find. This lovely wooden version, available in Antique Blue or Antique Red, makes a lively alternative.
And you can get any of these clocks shipped to you for free during our Holiday Sale! Enjoy FREE SHIPPING with any purchase and save an additional 10% off our Porcelain Enamel Lighting fixtures from now until January 4th, 2013 at 11:59pm PST. Just enter STOCKING12 into the Discount Coupon Field at checkout!

Who would have thought the newest interior design trend would spring from such an unlikely source? Industrial chic decor translates the heavy duty, rustic, and ergonomical objects found in factories into functional and stylish pieces for every room in the house. Start with a neutral foundation, like this Almsted rug from Ikea then add fun embellishments. Metal baskets like the perforated metal baskets, and wire baskets are practical means of storage without sacrificing design. Two industrial essentials are the Bordeaux Tin Wall Clock and the Wilcox Studio Light. These accessories look like they are fresh from the factory floor! And don’t forget to juxtapose your hard, cold, materials with soft, colorful, textiles through your furniture selection like this sofa and pillows.
