On a recent trip through the funky little coastal town of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, we
enjoyed a fabulous fried grouper sandwich and some sweet tea at Creek Ratz, a local joint that specializes in fresh seafood, cold beer, and some wonderful industrial lighting. We showed you in a previous blog how galvanized industrial warehouse pendants complete with a red wire cage are used to highlight the bar area with rustic style.

While we love natural features in landscaping for obvious reasons — see Wednesday’s blog for a nice residential example — sometimes these features pose a problem for businesses as they try to manage parking and accessibility to the door. For one business, a peaceful meandering stream in the front of the store creates a tranquil entry, but also separates the store from the parking lot. How to get customers from one side to the other? Build a bridge high enough to keep feet dry during the spring rains and line both sides with post mount warehouse shades.

If breakfast is your favorite meal of the day, the Sunny Point Cafe in Asheville, North Carolina should appear on your bucket list of places to eat. People come from all across the county to this eatery famous for its maple black pepper bacon. Southern Living magazine notes, “Having all your favorite breakfast items served as a salad assuages any guilt. Brilliant.”
On the lighting menu at this popular cafe are some rustic post mount lights on the outdoor patio where people like to dine alfresco and catch up with friends. These lights are very similar to our Barn Light Post Mount CGU Exterior Light. This light mimics the design of our Atomic Cast Guard CGU Sconce that is adaptable to almost any setting indoors or out.
The Post Mount CGU Light can follow a number of design directions with the array of finishing options available. The galvanized finish on these Sunny Point Cafe fixtures lends a traditional look to the patio as would a black, Tuscany, or brushed copper finish. If your design scheme leans more toward a modern or retro look, check out the bold finish colors we offer such as red, yellow, or cruiser green. Complete the look of your new light with your choice of glass color and texture.
Three different types of poles are available for your new light including direct burial, bolt down base, or a decorative cast base pole. These are sold separately and come in a variety of sizes on both smooth and textured pole surfaces.
A fixture that nicely complements the Post Mount style is the Barn Light Column Mount CGU Exterior Light. This light mounts on any column such as the wooden piling of a dock or a stone column by the doorway or driveway entrance to help light up the night.
