This doesn’t mean you can’t have a taste of the natural environment in your space as evidenced by the newly designed office spaces for LogicMonitor in downtown Santa Barbara, California. This SaaS company (Software-as-a-Service) provides hosted monitoring of IT infrastructure and recently moved into a former data center. Their designer, Celeste Trudeau, used a soothing palette to create a modern yet industrial space.

The old saying that the kitchen is the heart of the home was surely coined in Jana’s house. Our Featured Customer built her home on a cattle ranch and hay farm in Eastern Oregon 22 years ago. At the time, she had three children and her kitchen seemed huge.
“Then our family grew to seven children, four of which are married now, and we will soon have eight grandchildren,” Jana says. “We outgrew the kitchen years ago, but it took us awhile to decide to remodel.” The family spends many hours every day in the kitchen. Winters are long in Oregon and there is a cozy fireplace at one end of the room. And summers are busy with haying seven days a week.

When you’re in the throes of a remodeling project, there are seemingly a thousand things that can go wrong. But sometimes you just get lucky. When Kara of Illinois recently tackled a kitchen remodel in her 1890s-era farmhouse, she selected three of Barn Light Electric’s Ivanhoe™ Esso Warehouse Porcelain Pendants in a Jadite finish.
“The Jadite is a favorite color of ours,” Kara says. “And lo and behold the pendants totally matched our new glass subway tile back splash. That was kismet! I had no idea if they would match.” The 8″ Esso pendants are ideal for Kara’s kitchen island — not too big and not too small. The small kitchen space had been remodeled in the 90s and was very functional for one person, but Kara, her husband and two daughters needed more practical space for dining, chatting, and doing homework.
