2013 is all about dazzling color palettes. Color blocking highlights the vibrancy in individual colors, and in light of our recent LED launch, we’ve been thinking a lot about industrial pendants that will perfectly illuminate these vibrant, modern spaces.
Our newest collection gives an innovative twist to our porcelain favorites. Now you can hang your stem mount Benjamin Sky Chief and Benjamin Esso with the environmentally friendly power of LED lighting.

We’re all different, there’s no denying that, and so are our design tastes. From expressing ourselves through our home, a blog or designing for others as a career, we all have different likes and dislikes. Not everyone is on board with the widely used vintage industrial look, so to help out our customers and readers of our blog, we try to touch on nearly every design style. Why? Well, for starters we all live in different homes – those from eras circa 1910, to those Mid Century marvels or lofts and new construction builds today.
We admit, a lot of the rooms featured are pretty feminine, but with a keen eye and a few tweeks and changes, each space could be altered to fit into a man’s world. Today we’re featuring an undoubtedly feminine living room and while it’s not covered in wall to wall pink and purple, it has its touches that lead you to assume someone girly does live here.
Lets remove the pink and mango blanket, the flowers and floral wall decals for a moment. Replace them with a charcoal grey throw, birch branches for the vase and a modern, geometric wall pattern. See? While it’s not your typical man cave or spot to watch Sunday night football, it remains masculine, yet formal.
When it comes to feminine lighting, our thoughts instantly shift to glitzy chandeliers or sometimes modern pendants. Not here – an industrial task lamp is positioned out of the way behind the side table and sofa. Task lighting allows for multiple lights to be used, or to just keep one bulb lit. For this same look, choose the Industrial Swank Floor Lamp. Each individual arm is adjustable, letting you project light wherever you wish. The sleek polished chrome finish is just like the floor lamp in the photo, acting as an element of décor in itself – for both feminine and masculine designs. What more could you possibly ask for?

When you think of a farmhouse, typically you don’t think of the beach, but it seems that the two worlds have recently collided to create a harmonic balance between them. Gone are the preconceived notions that the classic appearance of the traditional farmhouse needs to remain uniformly Victorian. Thanks to the shabby chic movement, the natural wear and tear that commonly is associated with these older farmhouses has now been heralded as the latest trend. Combining these worn characteristics with common reclaimed materials can lead to a unique and incredible transformation, especially when they are paired with stark whites and vivid colors commonly associated with Coastal décor.

For most homeowners with high vaulted ceilings and large open spaces above living rooms and entryways, the desire to supply ample lighting through the use of a single ceiling pendant is an ideal option in these open air spaces. Unfortunately most pendants are either unevenly designed or too small for these spaces, creating an awkward focal point in the middle of these rooms. Without the addition of a pendant in these areas, most rooms will seem incomplete or dark due to the lack of adequate lighting and presence that can be filled with the right choice of down lighting.
