Those with modern tastes would love this bright kitchen with its stainless appliances and sleek white cabinets unencumbered by any sort of handle or decoration. If the entire space were this bright and slick, it might take on an almost sterile look but the warm wood flooring, the old exposed brick wall in the adjoining hallway, and the simple wood counter all help soften the space and give it a more inviting feeling. The touch of industrial decor is another bonus — these backless stools tucked underneath the counter look very much like our Industrial Factory Backless Stool. The backless stools are a great choice here as they can be pushed underneath the bar when not in use freeing up floor space and leaving the walkway open for traffic flow.
Our Industrial Factory stools take their design cues straight from the Machine Age of the early 20th century when American steel production went into high gear between the two world wars. Furniture took on a sleek, efficient look and this type of stool was often found in bustling factories and warehouses. Their timeless design is perfect for homes such as this one or for commercial businesses trying to capture an industrial vibe with their decor.
The sturdy vintage stools are crafted entirely from steel and feature a fixed, solid black walnut seat. Choose the classic Black or Galvanized finish for a rustic look to complement a farmhouse or traditional home, or choose the Barn Red for a more retro feel in your urban loft.
The American-made Industrial Factory Stool is also available in a backed version that features the same solid black walnut seat but with a swivel design. The backed stools would make a delightful addition to a local pub, a restaurant with tall tables, for the workshop in the garage, or for the man cave downstairs!

Just in case you haven’t noticed, there’s been a population explosion of late that begs for our attention. Thrift stores with names like Second Hand Rose or New to You are popping up everywhere along with vintage shops and industrial decor showrooms. No matter where you live, the industrial trend has taken off gathering up new converts like Billy Graham at a 1950s tent revival.
Here at Barn Light Electric, we too love the idea of taking something old and giving it new life much like our line of Vintage Barn Lighting. And what better complement to one of these beautiful antique lights than some industrial furniture in the same space? Take this industrial factory cart for example. It’s loaded with vintage treasures like a discarded tackle box, an old dish drainer, and vintage soda crates that hold odds and ends. And the rolling cart keeps all these pieces tidy with the mobility to move where you need it or simply out of the way! We offer a smaller factory cart called The Armory Vintage Industrial Work Station. This 100 percent American made cart features reclaimed steel, salvaged local wood, and industrial grade cast iron wheels. This heavy duty cart can take on any number of jobs from mobile kitchen island or microwave cart to printer station or craft table.

Spring has definitely sprung in most corners of the good old USA, and it came rather early this year which is a happy bonus for the gardeners among us. Late March is usually the time when those with a green thumb are itching to get started, but it’s still a bit too early to put anything into the ground. Having these few extra warm weeks to start the season off means the bounty of fresh produce will arrive on our tables even sooner.
This charming potting area is a gardener’s dream and is actually located in the corner of a garage. Although for some, a potting area is little more than an old table with room to start seedlings and repot flowers, this space has some beautiful detailing such as the handy pegs to hang tools, wainscoting on the walls, the apron front sink, and plenty of storage space below. The industrial style stool is also a nice touch. This stool is very similar to the new line of Industrial Factory Stools that Barn Light Electric launched just a few weeks ago. Created from designs straight from the Machine Age of the early 20th century, these stools were first manufactured when American steel production went into high gear and furniture took on a sleek, efficient look. These backless stools are perfect for so many different spaces including kitchen bars, study areas for kids, and, of course, the garage or workshop.
The Backless Stool is American made exclusively for Barn Light Electric from high quality steel. The fixed seat measures 13″ across and is made of solid black walnut. The stool can be finished in classic black, vintage galvanized, or barn red for a retro look. We also offer the Industrial Factory Stool with a back which features a solid black walnut swivel seat and can be finished in the same black, galvanized, and red finishes.
