This week’s Style Me Sunday ushers in a little summer warmth to ease your chilly winter blues. And there’s no better light than our new Sydney shades to do this! Its nautical style is reminiscent of our favorite oceanic holidays—and is the perfect fixture for this eclectic space.
Whether located in your back porch or living room, outdoor furniture like this Wicker Lane White Chair adds lots of texture and detail. Fresh foliage is another element that brings the outdoors in and enlivens your senses.
Crisp and clean cobalt blue-and-white patterns often make cameo appearances in nautical spaces, but we’re adding a little twist with this Arbre Chinois fabric. We love the way this fabric coordinates with the chinoiserie planter from the Inspiration Image without clashing with the overall look.
Looking for a fun way to display your favorite findings? Try hanging them as wall ornamentation! We love this Octopus Print from Etsian littlebluebirdstudios. And don’t forget wall sconces — Captain Ahab would be envious of this Admidships Bulkhead Wall Mount Light Fixture’s patina finish!
Fill your Canvas Baskets with Handles with shells, sea-glass, or other collectibles for a great conversational piece!
Meet Lana & Joey, the fabulous blogging couple over at Making a House a Home. We’ve been tracking their house projects for quite some time now, and last week we were thrilled to see the big reveal of their Cobalt Blue Benjamin Bomber Porcelain Stem Light. In her blog post, Lana dished about her helpful family (lucky to have handymen as in-laws!) and the rest of her plans for her bathroom remodel!Read More
Where do you hang your stockings? We’ve seen quite the gamut of locations. From traditional mantels, stair railings, and bookshelves to free hanging stockings–there’s something promising about these little places just waiting to be stuffed with knick knacks and candy. For today’s Style Me Sunday, we’re creating a mantel piece that will rival your Christmas tree for center of attention.
Our cozy mantel was inspired by this Faux Fireplace re-do from the The Rooster and The Hen blog. Flocked Fraser Fir Garland with a light misting of white snow looks adorable draped across the corners. Vintage inspired wall sconces like the Chesapeake Bay Mirrored Wall Sconce and the Norwalk Wall Sconce both feature Nostalgic Edison style bulbs that give off a warm, almost candle-like glow.
Michelle Fritz’s Burlap Stockings are so shabby chic and look lovely besides other vintage accessories like the Bullit Mantel Alarm Clock. We love her idea of displaying fresh greenery in the stockings before Santa arrives to fill them with goodies!
Industrial home goods like the Tapering Zinc Containers add a little edge while being practical for storing fireplace accessories. The Industrial Metal Adjustable Stool is great for extra seating, but can also be used as a mantel-side table to hold your charming Enamelware Cups.
Speaking of stockings, our 2012 Holiday Sale is still going strong for another 12 days! If you haven’t taken advantage of our free shipping, now’s the time. As an additional bonus, we’re giving you 10% off all American made Porcelain Enamel lighting fixtures. Just enter the code STOCKING12 to redeem the discount!

We’re thrilled about our new, edgy light collection. Inspired Soho district in New York, our Soho Collection features shades that combine the industrial and rustic nature of the inner city with the bold and colorful design aesthetic of the artists that inhabit it.
For this Style Me Sunday we’re focusing on the softer side of Soho. Our inspiration image shows off a beautifully aged brick wall in a stylish loft apartment. To soften the look, we gave our look a pastel palette that includes sage, blush, and cream. The Unfurl Sofa Bed is ideal for adding a clean surface to a rustic space, and it’s neutral color allows us to accessorize it with textured pillows. This oval coffee table’s round shape contrasts the Charcoal Grey Geometric Rug, for a very modern look. For extra surface room, try the Hudson Loft Sofa Table.Read More
