In the shadow of Mount Mansfield, in the town of Underhill, Vermont, our Featured Customer Martine envisioned a warm, country feel for her bathroom remodel. It would also include her heart’s desire — a claw foot tub.
“We are surrounded by nature and I wanted a farmhouse type feel,” Martine says. “I felt it was important to have a light that was custom and unique to be the center of attention.” Martine selected a 10″ Bantam Laramie Wall Sconce which is a popular fixture in our Barn Wall Sconces collection. She chose a Bronze finish for the fixture which is mounted above the rough-hewn vanity which was, as Martine says, “crafted by my honey who is a carpenter.”

Robin Muto is an interior and lighting designer based out of Rochester, New York. We recently stumbled across a few of her wonderful design projects while browsing the blogosphere.
“Tasteful, Timeless, Comfortable, Refined”
These are the four words Robin uses to describe her design philosophy. However, this particular photo caught my eye right away. By the looks of this Art Deco style bathroom, she clearly holds true to that ideology. It truly embodies the Art Deco design motif.

Chances are you’ve already read about the Vision House Orlando 2011 on our blog, and you are probably hooked and wanting to know more! Well, fear no more, as we have our next installment in the Vision House series. Today, we’re showcasing the children’s bathroom from the energy efficient home in the historic College Park neighborhood.
From the looks of this bathroom it is so easy to see how well the design is carried throughout the Vision House. The shutters flanking the vanity mirror bring to mind the hurricane shutters featured on the exterior of the home. Similarly, those bright red hand towels reflect the finish on the exterior gooseneck lighting. However, when you first enter this barn-inspired washroom, it most likely isn’t the hand towels or shuttered mirror you first notice. Your eye probably catches the two porcelain gooseneck lights mounted above the vanity. The gooseneck arms used on these lights is even reflected in the faucets of the trough sink. Coincidence? We think not!

The customer submitted photo today shows the versatility of one of our most popular barn light fixtures at Barn Light Electric Co.® – the Barn Light Radial Wave Sconce. Our most recent photo submission comes from a young couple who reside in a ‘Canadian Cottage.’
As you can see in the photo, this Radial Wave Sconce, which starts at $184 each, was a crown jewel and the perfect finishing touch for their newly renovated bathroom. The one pictured above is a 12″ shade with a white finish. The homeowners added the sconce after a new tub and sink were installed. It matches perfectly with the subtle worn mirror and bead board trim below.

With the demand for modern fixtures on the rise, the market has become flooded with contemporary lighting that is more focused on a mixture of metal and glass than the sleek aesthetic appeal that can be achieved with just metal. Providing a rich contrast to most stainless steel accents and abstract elements that appear in modern homes or restaurants, the Panel Sconce offers a slim, low profile alternative to other bulky light fixtures from this genre. The simplified postmodern design of the Panel Sconce is ideally suited to compliment other recessed lighting, highlighting deep hues and giving a clean look to various rooms and hallways. Darker rooms greatly benefit from the shielded 18w 2G11 Twin CFL bulb setup, adding an indirect light source perfectly suited for home theaters and nightclubs. The Panel Sconce’s multiple sizes mixed with a choice of rubbed bronze and satin nickel finishes turn any unfettered space into an embodiment of the postmodern movement with the subtle outline of this sconce.
