With the 2013 Kentucky Derby in the books and the Preakness set for this weekend, even casual observers of horse racing are getting excited about the annual Triple Crown hype. This SaaS company (Software-as-a-Service) provides hosted monitoring of IT infrastructure and recently moved into a former data center. Their designer, Celeste Trudeau, used a soothing palette to create a modern yet industrial space.

The old saying that the kitchen is the heart of the home was surely coined in Jana’s house. Our Featured Customer built her home on a cattle ranch and hay farm in Eastern Oregon 22 years ago. At the time, she had three children and her kitchen seemed huge.
“Then our family grew to seven children, four of which are married now, and we will soon have eight grandchildren,” Jana says. “We outgrew the kitchen years ago, but it took us awhile to decide to remodel.” The family spends many hours every day in the kitchen. Winters are long in Oregon and there is a cozy fireplace at one end of the room. And summers are busy with haying seven days a week.

Although her home is located on a lake in Cornelius, North Carolina, today’s Featured Customer didn’t want to pursue a lake design when she remodeled her boys’ bathroom. Lisa planned a complete remodel, gutting the bathroom to the walls, then started from scratch.
“I had a vision of a rustic barn,” Lisa says. “The faucets and fixtures are stainless steel so I started looking for brushed steel lighting but everything was very modern. I was thinking more industrial or rustic which brought me to a galvanized finish.”
