Classic cars and porcelain barn lights are two pieces of American history that undoubtedly go hand in hand. Found long ago at mechanic shops and service stations everywhere, these items were made to last. Today, both of these pieces are iconic symbols of early American nostalgia and are treasured by fans and collectors around the country. Our Featured Customers today, Bob and Dawn from Pigeon, Michigan, now are fortunate enough to have both in their possession.
Nearing retirement age, Bob wanted a place that he could “hang out.” Originally, the couple built a pole barn with a 1950′s motif. Inside, it has your typical diner, theater, office and showroom for his classic car collection. It’s even complete with a garage, workshop and wash bay – talk about the ultimate guy hangout! As the car collection grew, Bob converted the entire space into a beautiful show room to show off his toys. The couple then added onto the front area, which is what you see at the top of the page. With such a large front facade, a few exterior lights were needed. Dawn’s excellent tastes brought her to Barn Light Electric where she found our Goodrich™ Bombers.
Like we mentioned above, lights like these were used essentially anywhere that vintage cars were once found: auto shops, car assembly lines, gas stations and now this Michigan showroom. By choosing our 17″ Goodrich™ Bomber Porcelain Gooseneck Light to highlight the front exterior, visitors are instantly transformed back to a time of poodle skirts and jukeboxes. These porcelain enamel barn lights set the tone for what is to come once you enter the showroom.
“The compliments for the porcelain lights just keep coming. They are the cherry on the ice cream sundae!” – Dawn
