Featured Customer | Makr Carry Goods in Winter Park, FL
At Barn Light Electric, we pride ourselves on offering unique, American made barn lighting and vintage industrial furniture. Those are two big things that we have in common with today’s featured customer – Makr Carry Goods. If you’re familiar with the central Florida area, you may have heard about their store in Winter Park. If not, we definitely recommend stopping in, or at least checking out their online store.
When starting up, Makr Carry Goods had a unique vision. That vision was (and still is) to provide customers with quality leather and canvas goods. A quick glance at their website and you’ll see they have everything from camera bags, large totes and leather wallets. They even have a great Studio Work Stool which we could see paired up with our Industrial Factory Work Table; put the two together and you’ve instantly got a dreamy yet rugged workstation.
Down the center of the shop is a similar line of worktables – this is where their magic happens as the artists trace, cut and sew each piece. The whole atmosphere is industrialized, from the exposed ductwork all the way down to the polished concrete floors. Naturally, the crew needed industrial style lighting for their shop, so you guessed it – they came to us! Choosing three oversized Deep Bowl Vent Pendants, they hung them over the center aisle of tables. The large, 18 inch ceiling lights allow for a larger spread of focused light to shine down, adding to the light provided by the track lighting above.
If you’ve been looking for American made lighting with an industrial spin, this may be the right choice for you too. Large, commercial Deep Bowl Shades, like those shown, are everywhere in the design world today. Suspend a grouping over a large island area or use a single lamp above a dining table.
