Featured Customer | Galvanized Warehouse Pendants Bring Shine into Living Space

A serious love of all things vintage drives Meg and Trevor’s home design in Ontario, Canada. As they considered improvements to their main living space, Meg knew the cheesy, big-box-store lights would have to go.

“We wanted to add some interest to the ceiling as it is quite high and we had plain flush mount lights with no real interest,” Meg explains. “We spend most of our time in this room so comfort was a definite feel requirement.” The couple have an eclectic mix of items in their home including a lot of ethnographic African art mixed in with rustic industrial touches.

“I am all about mixing metals right now,” Meg says, “with brass, galvanized, and vintage silver being my main focus.” Meg writes a blog called MT-Tails about her love of vintage materials and her DIY efforts in remodeling her home. In the hunt for perfect ceiling lights, Meg saw galvanized fixtures on other blogs. “I love the look of these lights and how they bring the light more into the room instead of just at the ceiling,” Meg says. “The galvanized finish attracts your eye to the lights without being too strong and shiny.” And while the lights add just the right industrial touch to the room, Meg likes the galvanized finish on the inside of the shade as well.

“Our favorite thing about these lights is the gorgeous warm glow the lights give off especially since we installed these on a dimmer,” she notes. “They are an ambient light that we always want to leave on.”
