Featured Customer | Galvanized Barn Pendants Shine on Family Pool Table Fun
When Featured Customer Ray moved his family of four from Illinois to California a couple of years ago, he knew they would need extra storage space. Their modest, 1,700-square-foot home has no attic or basement — space they’d grown used to having in their old home. So the solution was to build a barn on his property in San Luis Obispo.
“It’s a 2,400-square-foot, corrugated steel barn that we use mainly for storage while we plan to build a new house on the property,” Ray says. “Plus it’s a great place for the pool table!” Ray picked up on the look and feel of the corrugated steel when he customized his new barn lighting by selecting a Galvanized finish for the Ivanhoe Pendant Lights over the pool table.
The 16″ shade of the Ivanhoe Pendant Light is perfect for a pool table as its wide span of downward directed light means Ray will never miss a bank shot to the corner pocket. This pendant also has an interesting slotted neck design that allows bands of light to fan out across the shade below. The linear lines give it a somewhat Mid Century feel, while the warehouse shade itself offers a timeless look. In addition to the Galvanized finish, there are 20 other finish colors to choose from for the American made Ivanhoe Pendant including Red, Patina, or Polished Aluminum.
While Ray chose a standard black cord for his lighting, this fixture can also be stem mounted with a variety of lengths to choose from to suit your space. The glass can be customized with colors and textures — Ray went with a frosted glass for his lights.
And while Ray’s new barn is filling up fast with all of the stuff of family life, he and his wife are dreaming of their new home. They plan to include more barn style lighting to keep with the utilitarian and classic style of their coastal California environment. Keep us posted Ray!
