DIY Network’s Man Caves | Bert Kreischer
“Man Cave (n): an area within a house frequented by a man, as a workshop, garage, basement or den.”
You may be familiar with the term “man cave” for a number reasons. Perhaps there is one in your own home, a friend’s, neighbor’s or you have watched the hit series on DIY Network titled, Man Caves. Appropriately named, Man Caves is a TV series that surprises one lucky guy with a man cave makeover. Their motto is: “Guys need an exclusive space to hang out in their homes — a refuge where they can enjoy what they love.”
We have previously worked with DIY Network on Garage Mahal, a similar series devoted to extreme garage makeovers. This was our first Man Caves episode though (airing Friday, July 15) and it was a big one indeed! The team was designing for Bert Kreischer, host of Bert the Conqueror on the Travel Channel.
Like many of us, Bert and his wife LeAnn had a ‘junk room’ where everything seemed to pile up in. Bert was looking for a rustic retreat with a dab of masculinity. With a rustic and woodsy vibe in mind, designers contacted us regarding our American made Discount Barn Lights.
In the top left photo, not only do you find Bert peeking out of the door, but you’ll also catch a glimpse of our 10″ Barn Light Warehouse Sconce. Once you step inside, the man cave is lit up by four 14″ Farm and Barn Warehouse Pendants. Designers opted for a Powder Coat Rust finish on all of the fixtures to keep with the rustic look, but also added on wire cages to the each for an added touch. Along with the appropriate lighting, Bert’s man cave has all the necessities – a flat screen television and his own personal beer tap. What guy wouldn’t want to hang out in a man cave like this?
