In 2013, Pantone delighted the design world by naming Emerald Green as the color of the year. This Thursday, Pantone decided to refresh our color palettes by naming Radiant Orchid as the 2014 Color of the Year. This fresh and feminine hue is popular for floral arrangements, but we are excited to see how it is infused in interior design. Here are some of our favorite complementary hues. Which one suits your style?

I’m a little behind the 8-ball when it comes to classic television. As much as I enjoy curling up on the couch with a bag of popcorn for a night of per-recorded fun, I’m about a decade behind this band of buddies. I started the first season this week and was surprised about how much I recognized the show’s creative set design. In case you’re like me, pre-Friends, the show originates in the mid-90s and revolves around the lives of six friends. It’s wacky, endearing, and quite colorful.
Perhaps I’ve been exposed to the set design through commercials and clips, but the more I spend time watching life unfold in fictional locations like... Read More
Winter camping trips are a daring adventure. Freezing weather makes for the ideal opportunity to test out your fire-making and snuggling skills. Plus, in most places (especially Florida!) cooler weather means the disappearance of our peskiest wildlife, AKA, mosquitoes. Perhaps it’s the early-November holiday itch, or simply a desire to take a holiday every day, but I’ve definitely seen a rise in the indoor camping trend. What could be cozier than pitching a tent on a stack of pillows? Here’s a list of some of our favorite essentials for the next time you want to pitch a camping tent in your livingroom.
From a pillow fort to table and sheet, indoor... Read More
We can never get enough barnspiration. There’s something so precious about timeless wood siding, rustic decor, and the heritage of pastoral style. It’s just a good thing. When we partnered with Trendland to light up one of their model apartments, we soon discovered how captivating bohemian style interiors can be. Like the industrial farmhouse trend, bohemian interiors appreciate antique detail and elements that are a tad disheveled. Boho interiors explore color and whimsy, and celebrate surrounding ourselves with objects we love.
Maybe it’s time to take a (super momentary) break from the barn and explore our artsy side…
I’ve never seen a... Read More
It’s beginning to look a lot like… Autumn, my favorite time of year. I can finally justify my daily cardigans and jeans because at a crisp 74° degrees, why wear anything else? We’ve managed to sample every pumpkin spice themed coffee in the office’s vicinity and confession: I’ve splurged on a pumpkin-themed set of candles that will (hopefully) last the season. Autumn is one of the year’s finest seasons. No wonder everyone is “falling” for it. Here are eight ways autumn has captured our hearts…

Last week I enjoyed an afternoon borrowing a friend’s kitchen to bake some ooey-gooey chocolate cookies. We had such a blast baking with her vintage kitchen goods. I was partial to the Sift-Chine Hand Mixer (I know…I’m a lazy girl!) and was particularly amused with how many of her antique kitchen appliances were American-made. It was a beautiful reminder of how classic, American made products have stood the test of time, and definitely inspired my to fill my own kitchen with goods that will last.
