This time of year it’s easy to get sidetracked by all of the holiday goodies piled high on party platters, but December is also the month when I crave oysters. An oyster feast on Christmas Eve is a great way to kick off the festivities!
For those of you on the Jersey shore, Steve & Cookie’s By the Bay is a great place to stop in for a dozen or two. Located in Margate, south of Atlantic City, this oyster bar was recently remodeled and the owners opted to replace the boring track lighting with some classic barn pendant lights. And since the restaurant is a member of the Green Restaurant Association, the owners chose the Original™ Warehouse LED Pendant.Read More
Tucked away in the picturesque hills of Marin County just north of San Francisco, today’s Featured Customer built a craftsman-style home designed not to stand out from this lovely place, but to assimilate with it peacefully.
“We tried to contour the home to the land and make it blend into the surroundings,” David says. Farm land surrounds the new home and the homeowners incorporated elements of corrugated metal into the structure to “keep it classic” as David says. This includes galvanized gooseneck barn lights and a cord-hung barn pendant on the exterior. Valentine’s Day is all about size — robust roses, brimming boxes of chocolates, big sparkly bling perhaps? Here at Barn Light Electric, it’s the perfect day to launch our big new, oversized RLM warehouse shades! We’ve taken one of our most popular shades, The Original™, and beefed it up to a whopping 24″ and 28″ wide. Available as The Original™ Warehouse Gooseneck Light, this oversized wall light reflects a wide span of downward directed light onto patios, sidewalks, awnings, commercial signage, and more. It will bring plenty of light to factories, warehouses, and other commercial buildings such as malls, restaurants, and retail stores. We were so excited about these burly new shades, we had to install them on one of our own buildings!Read More
While we knew that RLM warehouse shades were all the rage in the United States during the 1930s and 40s in factories and warehouses, apparently they were quite popular Down Under too. Our friends at the Red Brick Barn, a rustic, two-story retreat in central Victoria, found some vintage warehouse shades at a local flea market and repurposed them for use in the communal dining room. The shades were green enamel when found at the flea market but were spray painted an off-white color leaving a hint of green showing at the rim as an accent.Read More
