Charles Baxter wittily noted, “Forget art. Put your trust in ice cream.” We couldn’t agree more! There’s little more refreshing and comforting than a chilly bowl of ice cream on a warm spring afternoon. With the summer heat wave on the cusp (well, at least for us Floridians!) the very thought of ice cream makes our mouths water. The old saying that the kitchen is the heart of the home was surely coined in Jana’s house. Our Featured Customer built her home on a cattle ranch and hay farm in Eastern Oregon 22 years ago. At the time, she had three children and her kitchen seemed huge.

What’s the first thing you see when you stumble through the door after a long week? A stack of bills on that hand-me-down side table? An old coat rack overwhelmed with clutter? Or is it just too dark to see anything because you haven’t replaced that outdated flush mount fixed to the ceiling? Foyers and entryways are high traffic spaces that often go overlooked. Who says utilitarian rooms can’t make you smile?
Style your foyer with colorful, creative accents that refresh you. Smaller spaces are perfect places to incorporate unique wall finishes. Try playing around with interior wallpaper designs like this custom Watercolor Wall Paper from Black Crow Studios.
Accessorize your room with functional and stylish interior decorations like this Oval Swivel Mirror. You’ll never leave the house with a pesky piece of pepper between your teeth when you have such a beautiful mirror to check your smile. Keep track of the time with an oversized clock like this Lillie Tin Clock!
Function meets style with this Chevron Storage Ottoman. Makes a cozy place to slip off your shoes and then hide them away! And you can never go wrong with fresh cut flowers. We love how these peach-hued rose blossoms contrast with the cool colors of this space.
A rustic pendant light like this 18″ Benjamin™ Deep Bowl Stem Mount adds some much needed vintage flair! Plus the large reflector will fill up your room with bright, welcoming light.
First impressions are most lasting… It might be time to revive your entryway a fresh and vibrant makeover.
