Last week I enjoyed an afternoon borrowing a friend’s kitchen to bake some ooey-gooey chocolate cookies. We had such a blast baking with her vintage kitchen goods. I was partial to the Sift-Chine Hand Mixer (I know…I’m a lazy girl!) and was particularly amused with how many of her antique kitchen appliances were American-made. It was a beautiful reminder of how classic, American made products have stood the test of time, and definitely inspired my to fill my own kitchen with goods that will last.

There’s a new cow in town — Grass Cow — and it’s the latest eatery designed by Studio Kiss of Sag Harbor, New York. Principal Laszlo Kiss offers architectural, construction, and green services in his practice and recently applied his many talents to the first establishment of the new restaurant chain.
“The owner has two other restaurants, one of which I also designed, but they are larger in size and menu complexity,” Laszlo says. “For the new stores, Grass Cow, the owner wanted a homey feel that was down to earth using simple materials.”
