Even with summer in full swing I find myself looking at the calendar and realizing how fast the season is going by. After the 4th of July, I tend to grab every opportunity to get outside, take advantage of the weather, and socialize more. Informal gatherings on the back porch or spread on the lawn are perfect for the summer, and while these parties are meant to be low stress, you still want your home to look its best for friends and neighbors.Read More
School is out, time to shop! If you’re a business owner, it’s time to consider your store or restaurant’s presentation. Will your shop window draw a crowd, or do guests simply walk on by?
This Style Me Sunday we’re offering some tips that will add curb appeal that is sure to attract consumers. From spot lighting to product display, we want to help you spruce up that space to create an eye-catching window showcase!
Luckily for most of us, creating an inviting front entryway doesn’t involve rocket science. If you’ve got the bones of your structure in place, all you need are some additional touches that give your home genuine curb appeal and will enhance its value for years to come. Start off by simply keeping the area around your front door uncluttered so visitors don’t have to step over a pile of shoes just to get in. Add some potted plants or seasonal flowers in different sized containers and at different heights to add visual interest.
Exterior lighting can make a home look welcoming at night, discourage intruders, and cast a warm glow on the architectural details. This home is striking with its bold architecture and industrial style. What could have been a very stark entry is softened by the choice of colors and the textures of the garden and other plants nearby. The rustic wall sconce is a nod to the Atomic Age and looks much like our Barn Light Industrial Static Topless Sconce.
This wall-hugging fixture is one of our most versatile sconces, available in two sizes, and able to take on a mid-century to modern look with your choice of options. Bold colors like Red and Blue are on the palette as are more traditional tones like Patina and Coppertone. More than half a dozen glass options are available. Rated for wet locations, this sconce will provide years of service by the front door, in breezeways, or on the garage. Choose a matching Atomic Topless CGU Pendant for the porch!
You can also get a similar look with our bold House Numbers. Crafted from heavy duty steel, these 1/4″ thick numbers are powdercoated in your choice of five distinctive colors. Easy to read, even from a distance!

Before you bedeck your porch with pumpkins, scarecrows and spooky cobwebs make sure your curb appeal is up to par! FengShui Design Corp shows us how to style exteriors with clean lines and classic American details like wood side paneling and white trim. With a paint palette featuring vibrant blue, buttery yellow and soft white, your home will look fresh year round! Accessorizing with lighting is essential to show off your beautiful home—and the Trick-Or-Treaters will thank you as well! Highlight your stylishly paved lawn with a porcelain post-mount light. This Bomber Single Post Mount Exterior Light’s yellow finish makes a lovely complement to the door! And don’t forget that pendant lighting, like the Cape Hatteras Pendant, is an excellent way to highlight your industrial House Numbers.
Rustic metal baskets like the Round Vintage Utilitarian Wire Basket are a great way to combine function and style on your front porch. If you wanted to incorporate a little bit of the season in this space, white pumpkins would look lovely clustered along the stairway!
