Yesterday, we told you about the two Original Barn Light 12″ Warehouse Shades from Barn Light Electric® showcasing the front entrance to Bixby & Ball, a new store in the coastal village of Solana Beach, California. Today, we’re giving you a glimpse of the store’s interior.
Bixby & Ball sells a wide variety of items to create a coastal chic design in your own home or office, with products ranging from bedding, to jewelry, books, candles, cards, dishware, fragrance, glassware, serveware and wall art.
Two white, cord-hung galvanized lighting pendants known as Bermuda Pendants from Barn Light Electric® hang above the checkout counter to provide concentrated yet pleasant lighting for the workers and the guests. Below, you can see a wider angle of the front counter, with the mirror and white dressers in the background. Galvanized metal is a wonderful choice when decorating coastal settings – it’s clean finish gently contrasts against warm, weathered woods and soft, nautical textiles.
The Bermuda pendant, which starts at $107, comes with a shade 9 inches wide and 7 inches high and is available in more than 45 different finishes.
Three mounting options: cord hung, stem mount and flush mount, allow for installation in any area of your home. Barn Light Electric® also sells the 3 Pendant Island Light Bermuda, which starts at $429, and comes with three Bermuda Pendants aligned in a 28″ x 4 3/8″ canopy.
When Bixby & Ball’s founders Melissa Anderson and Betsy Bracken envisioned the layout for a quaint cottage the store now occupies, their goal was to create a setting that felt more like a friend’s waterfront home rather than a retail store. As a result, Bixby & Ball now has a beige exterior storefront, and an interior with a with subtle blue and white colors. Mantles are lined with vases full of fresh flowers and decorations that complement the cottage’s original design. If you’re near San Diego, you can visit the Bixby & Ball Monday through, Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
