Adjustable cloth cord pendants have been around for decades. Originally modeled after the antique lamps that once lit Paris workshops, their popularity grew from their ability to adjust to different counter or table heights. Depending on the task, workers were able to control themselves the amount of light they needed.
Most of our pendants at Barn Light Electric come with 7 to 8 feet of adjustable cord, but the unique feature about pulley style fixtures, is that during instillation, the cloth cord doesn’t need to be cut. The side counter weight and top pulley lever, will allow you to store several inches of extra, unused cord for later use.
Once the light has been installed to the ceiling, you are free to move the shade up and down, finding your desired height. In some instances, you may need lower, more direct light. Other times you may need to pull the shade up and out of the way – still allowing for overhead lighting, but without the shade being in the way.
The Barn Light Electric Marshfield Pendant can be adapted into many styles of homes. Available in two finish choices, the Old Bronze will accent rustic, older homes, while the Satin Nickel finish will tie into more modern, loft style spaces. The Marshfield Pendant is available in two shade sizes – Small and Large. Choose a larger shade size to hang alone, or multiple smaller shades to accent above kitchen counters or bars. Prices for the Marshfield start at $299.00 for small shades, and can go up to $359.00 for a larger version.
Also online is a similar pulley style Everson Wall Sconce. Available in four finishes, you are able to match wall lighting to the Marshfield Pendant if you choose, or create a new look throughout your home. Unique to the Everson Wall Sconce, you are able to choose from six shade options – frosted, fluted edges for a more romantic, traditional feel, or a more direct, modern shade in gold or blue. Moderately priced at $219.00 each, the Everson is the perfect accent to hallways, dining rooms, or bathrooms.
I purchased a floor and table pulley lamps at Pottery barn in 2007 and recently broke one of the opaque glass shades or globes and can’t seem to get much help from the store where they were purchased. The dimensions are 6 inch height , 10 inch diameter at the bottom and the top aperture is 1 and 3 quarters diameter. Could you be of any help??? Linda Vieira 9709274252
